BCP6 Programmable Control System
for Paper Cutter Gauge setting control
The programmable gauge setting BCP6 control system has been designed for upgrading of paper-cutters of the older types, which are not equipped with electronic control of the gauge
position.
The BCP6 has been used successfully for upgrading the elder types of paper cutters manufactured by ADAST company, Czech Republic - for instance the following models: 80r10, 80r12, 115r10, 115r12, SEY115, SEY132. In general, the BCP6 is applicable for upgrading the paper cutters with motor-driven gauge moving, controlled with classical three-phase asynchronous motors. The upgrading can be taken into consideration in case of paper cutters in good general conditions and with the cutting circuit working perfectly. The system BCP6 control unit is equipped with
MOTOROLA® Inc. microcontroller.
BCP6 Functions
The BCP6 control system works in three different operating modes: manual mode, programming mode and program-controlled operation mode.
Manual mode
In this operating mode, no program features of BCP6 are being used. The control of the machine is fully carried out by the operator. There are the following
functions:
- The initial position setting
- Drive into the position
- Strips cutting
- Drive into front position
- Stop
- Manual slow drive forward
- Manual fast drive forward
- Manual fast drive backward
- Counting the cuts since putting the machine into operation and displaying the number of cuts performed
- Service function of BCP6 - parameters setting during the installation
Programming mode
In this operating mode programs are defined and stored by operator. The program definition is carried out in the same way as the functions would be activated in the manual mode of operation, but neither drives of the gauge, nor the cuts are performed. The following review shows the characteristics and options of the programming mode:
- LED indication of the "Program Mode"
- as many as 50 different programs
- as many as 400 program steps
- possible steps in the program:
- drive into the proper position (1 step, when the program is performed waits for a cut after the drive
finishes)
- drive into front position (1 step, when the program is performed no waiting for a cut after the drive
finishes)
- strips cutting (1 to 2 1/2 steps); the programmed number of strip cuts
- deletion of all programs
- deletion of the selected program
- copying of the current program into the new one
- detection of the next stored program
- definition of a new program
- the current program changing (edition)
- display of the number of free program steps in the memory
- limitation of the program length by currently free steps only
Program-controlled operating mode
In this mode, the chosen program is performed repeatedly. The mode is indicated with the LED "Operate Mode" switched on.
BCP6 package and delivery
- The electronic control system BCP6 is delivered within a metallic box with connectors for connecting input signals, output signals, and power supply - 12 to 20V AC, 5VA. The connectors are completed with their counterpieces through which all machine input and output signals are connected (including IRC inputs and inverter for the gauge drive motor control signal outputs). The box is mounted into the paper
cutter.
- The BCP6 system is provided with a washable keyboard with 23 keys.
- The BPP6 system display consists of a six-digit with seven-segment LED display of a
20 mm character height. The display is completed by the two operating mode signal
LEDs.
- BCP6 delivery kit includes accompanying documentation of BCP6 system describing the connection of machine signals, IRC signals, and inverter control signals. Also "BCP6 User's and Installation manual" is
included.
- Upon the customer's order the complete kit for upgrading of the machine can be delivered, including inverter, incremental position counter
(IRC), contactors, etc.
